In the time it takes most people to launch a web site, Mariano’s was able to transform the abandoned shell of a grocery store where Dominick’s once stood into a new shopping experience that is sure to make an immediate impact in the North Shore of Chicago.
At 6:00am on February 25th, the doors will open for business and a new era of shopping will begin. Mariano’s held a sneak peek breakfast for VIP’s and DAD yesterday (February 24th) and here are a few things DAD learned.
You Won’t Be Lost-Though the shopping experience is completely different the folks at Mariano’s did a good job of trying to keep the floor plan the same, so you don’t get lost or confused: the milk is where the milk used to be, the bakery same place, the produce and flowers all the same. All of this makes getting used to our new neighbor quick and easy.
Plenty of Surprises- DAD will focus on the things that matter, like beer. They added a new beer cooler that is big and has a great selection, that includes a make your own six pack option, so you can sample six of y our favorite brews. Just to sweeten the pot, Mariano’s made a deal with Revolution Brewing Company, today only they are bringing in freshly brewed beer. Beer that was brewed today and on the shelves a few hours later.
Juice and Smoothies- Are now available at Squeezed their smoothie bar. You can get your daily does of kale mixed up with stuff while you shop.
Meat!- Mariano’s extended the meat counter to include freshly made sausage and custom cut steaks. You can order up the size of the steak you want and the butcher will cut it right there just for you.
Hot Food Bar- Making dinnertime easy. Every day there is a different theme to the hot food bar, for those days when cooking isn’t an option or you’re like DAD and just don’t want to do it again!!
Salad bars, sushi, coffee, gelato, fresh produce and 300 new jobs to fill the hole that Dominick’s left when they packed up and left town.
Bob Mariano kicked off the ribbon cutting ceremony with a $2500 check to the Northfield Food Pantry a small part of the millions they donate to charity every year.
Great beer, fresh food, coffee, racing car shopping carts, great produce and plenty more are a part of the new Mariano’s in Northfield.
Full Disclosure– This is not a sponsored post! DAD is just SO happy he doesn’t have to shop at Jewel anymore!!!
