If Cambridge Analytica ever cracked my Facebook account they would find out I really love my kids, The Rock, summertime, side boob and of course #1.2 on that list…bacon.
Mystery solved. No need for Mr. Zuckerberg to testify on my behalf.
While March Madness is coming to an end, the Super Bowl of bacon is headed back to Chicago this weekend, Starting Friday night, April 6th.
Yes, my friends, get out your stretchy pants, it’s time to get your eat on at Baconfest.

For those of you new to Baconfest, it’s more than shoving tons of bacon down your gullet until the meat sweats take over…That’s a Packer’s tailgate.
Baconfest is one of Chicago’s premiere food festivals and features over 140 top chefs and world-renowned restaurants.
Chefs in each session will compete for the coveted Golden Rasher Award, an award to celebrate special achievement in the bacon arts. A panel of judges will award for “Most Creative Use of Bacon” and “Best Front of House Presentation.”

For the first time in Baconfest history, now fans will get the chance to choose a winner – guests will vote by text for their favorite dish to receive the “People’s Choice” Golden Rasher award. During the session, the “People’s Choice” votes will be projected on a leader-board in real time.
It’s a great place to get ideas for the home, because a majority of these recipes can be duplicated, see my Instagram for my Bacon fest inspired pineapple wrapped bacon dipped in brown sugar or as I call it “the mouth-gazm.”

Beyond great food and a lot of bacon puns, Baconfest supports the Greater Chicago Food Depository with a donation from event proceeds, a raffle on site and a food drive at the event. Over its nine year history, the event has generated more than $400,000 in donations to the area’s largest food bank. This translates to more than 1.2 million meals for hungry people in our community.
