One of my favorite things about Summer in Chicago is heading over to our local farmer’s market on the weekend to buy myself some “stinky cheese” and good meat.
Even when I can’t make it, my kids know to get DAD the stinkiest cheese they can find and some good meats for me to gobble up.
Here’s the rub, at my local farmers market on a sunny summer day, it’s a fun game, the guys know me, and I don’t have to do much thinking. Now move to January in a specialty shop and I am suddenly flop sweating, because, I have to sit and try and figure everything out.
Actually who am I kidding. I never have the time to go to specialty meat, cheese, wine, pasta or any other kind of cool food shop. I have 189 kids and the idea of schlepping them from place to place to make the perfect meal sounds as fun as a being stuck in traffic with them and a broken DVD player #awful!
So I go without, or piece together what I can at the big box grocery stores. Enter the Artizone, a grocery delivery service that brings groceries from Chicago’s best artisans and local stores directly to your house. No driving, no hassle, just a few clicks and you’re eating amazing food in your house and supporting local merchants and growers.
Even the snarkiest of neighbors would have a problem blowing a hole in this one.
Artizone is meats, cheese, wine, fish, complete meals, baked goods, produce and a whole lot more all on a web site that’s easy to manage and even easier to understand.
I know I like red wine. I also know I like Malbec, when I go into a store looking for wine, I usually go by what I know: price and the picture on the bottle. Sometimes I win, sometimes I lose.
On the Artizone website they have detailed descriptions of everything they sell from Malbec to Mozzarella.
Now that Father’s Day is just a few days away, they have a chance for you to win a $200 gift card to check out Artizone.
Click here, leave a comment on their Facebook page and qualify to win. If you just want to get to the good stuff, click here to check out Artizone.
Enjoy and if you find a good stinky cheese, you know who to get in contact with.
