DAD is awesome, we know that…duh! DAD also knows a bunch bloggers who are doing great things and wants to share Sunday as a day to shout out to those men and women who are making a difference in the world of parenting and deserve a shout out.
If you are a blogger or know a blogger who deserve a shout out, let DAD know and we will show them some love.
DAD knows half of the new blogging team Just A Dad 247, Pat Jacobs but knows a good team when he seen one.
Pat and his college buddy David Kepley both became stay-at-home dads. Pat likes cookies and Kepley thinks he is smarter than everyone else. It works on a blog.
This blog is for dads who stay-at-home, are considering staying at home, work part or full time, or just anybody looking for a laugh; they are not “Mr. Mom.” Their blog is actually chalk with some pretty awesome stuff, from a homemade growth chart that looks like it came from The Land of Nod, to a Mac and Cheese and Bacon and more cheese recipe that is amazing and 10,000 calories. I
Jacobs and Kepley started DAD 247 because Kepley was a stay-at-home dad for 1.5 years in Waxahachie, TX. He had nothing. No groups, no outlet, nothing. He tried going to play groups and wasn’t welcome. He looked for dad groups and outside of driving an hour, there was nothing.
When Jacobs started staying-at-home, they began sharing recipes, bragging about DIY projects and sending each other funny pix and quips throughout the day. The two started to talk about how helpful it would be to stay-at-home dads to be more aware that there are outlets: Groups, bloggers, networks, social outlets, etc.
Just A DAD 247 was born. They are new at blogging but not at being DAD’s and men who know a few things about parenting, life and really good food.
