Yea, I do crafts. What about it! They are a fun, creative way to get all my kids involved in something fun, that we can make together and keeps them from breaking anything in the rest of the house for at least a half an hour.
If you live in a part of the country where there’s snow (which is just about everywhere) Kool Aid iciles are a tasty way to decorate your frozen tundra, make a treat for your kids and get everyone outside for a little fresh air.
We decided to dress up the backyard in honor of the Winter Olympics and since there was NO WAY I was shoveling together three massive circles to make the rings, the Kool Aid icicle was born. To help keep your home comfortable during the winter, you may also need to seek furnace maintenance services before the winter season starts.
Here’s what you need:
1. Icicles hanging from your porch, house, play set, beard, you get the idea.
2. Kool Aid liquid flavors- you know those little squeezable bottles of Kool Aid concentrate.
Take the Kool Ade squirt it from the top to the bottom of the icicle. Give it a few minutes to spread out and sink in and boom, you have a tasty treat that also makes your house or yard look pretty cool.
My kids loved them and when they were done or bored, they just chucked them in the snow no fuss no muss.
If you don’t want your kids sucking in icicles, you can use food coloring as a substitute. Since Winter isn’t going away any time soon, it adds a little color to the massive amounts of white and you can change the colors for Valentines Day or heaven help us St. Partick’s day. You can color them for your favorite team or school colors.
NOTE- Icicles can be dangerous. They can fall on your head, you can skewer yourself and you can choke on them. So don’t be a dunce, watch over your kids and use a little common sense. Also the Kool Ade could stain your house as they drip and melt, so make sure the icicles you choose a a little bit out.
Other than that it’s fun, easy, tasty and makes you look that that “super creative parent who always has something fun to do with their kids, I don’t know how he/she does it.” To your neighbors.
Have fun, be safe, wear a hat.

Sweet idea! I just hope to never see big icicles around here ever again.
